Lightweight. Balanaced. Predictable.
CORE-LITE
Shapers Core-Lite construction has been a feature in the Shapers Fins range since day one. A famous construction that helps create a lightweight fin with a progressive flex pattern. Core-Lite Fins have a medium level of flex which is responsive, yet more forgiving than alternative constructions. Overall, Core-Lites have a balanced feel that will perform across a full range of surf conditions.
Ultra Light Weight Core
AIR-LITE
Shapers new Air-Lite construction is a specialised ultra-light-weight core that is shaped to create precision foils. Air-Lite's strength-to-weight ratio is a major benefit whilst providing an all-round balanced flex pattern that is smooth and predictable. Air-Lite constructions are featured throughout Shapers fins range and are the perfect match for the Global Surf Series (S.P.F / F.P.R / C.A.D).
Fast. Light. Responsive. Durable
CARBON-STEALTH
Carbon-Stealth fins feature a stiffer base and leading edge that mitigates friction and delivers exceptional drive and control. The progressive flex pattern through the fins tips ensures a responsive feel, fuelled with a kinetic energy that takes progressive surfing to the next level! Carbon-Stealth fins are the most popular moulded fin choice of the Shapers Professional Surf Team.
Premium Hand Foiled Fibreglass Fins
PRO GLASS
Shapers Pro-Glass fins are made from solid layers of fibreglass resulting in a heavier and more durable construction. This stffer flex pattern works to mitigate vibration, ensuring greater control, particularly in fast, overhead waves that pack power. Shapers Pro-Glass fins are also extremely popular as Hand-Foiled fin models in our Longboard and Twin Fin range.
Fin Terminology
BASE
Designed with extra rake for sweeping turns, drive and control. Excels in surfboards with medium to extreme rockers, promoting performance surfing that flows and links multiple manoeuvres. Fins in the Carve Class often feature a wide base for drive and a refined tip the that allow for quick off the top turns.
Fin Terminology
DEPTH
Depth refers to how much a fin penetrates the water and determines a board’s directional control. More drive and hold through turns is achieved through greater fin depth whilst shorter depth will accentuate speed and release.
Fin Terminology
FLEX
Fin flex is critical to performance. Flexible fins are more forgiving and generally easier to surf. A progressive flex pattern is advantageous, featuring a stiffer base for drive and control and flex through to the fins tip that allow it to flex, load up on energy and spring out of turns. Stiffer fins are responsive and suit higher levels of surfing, they provide and high level of energy that can be accessed and utilised for extra speed, drive and control. A fin that feels to stiff will be challenging to generate speed and manoeuvre, whilst too much flex (like some plastic fins) will lack responsiveness and undermine a surfers ability. A medium flex pattern is considered an all rounder, whilst stiffer fins such as CARBON STEALTH and PROGLASS are step up options for progressive surfing or waves featuring higher levels of speed and power.
Fin Terminology
RAKE
Sweep is also referred to as “rake” and is the measurement of how far the front lead edge of the fin is curved backwards. The amount of rake influences the length (or arc) of a turn and also relates to re-activeness, drive, control and release. Less sweep allows for tight, reactive pivotal turns whilst increased sweep allows the board to sustain longer, dawn-out turns with drive and control. Sweeping cutbacks are suited to fins with more rake and therefore fall into the CARVE fin Class. Reactive surfing featuring tail release (generally ease of manoeuvring) is promoted by more upright fins that are part of the PIVOT fin class.

ALL ROUNDER
Neutral templates that provide a balance of speed, manoeuvrability and flow. As the name suggests, the All Rounders will suit a wide range of surfboards and wave conditions ranging from beachies to point breaks. The All Rounders are and easy choice, reliable templates that excel as both Thruster and Quad fin setups.
Fin Class
CARVE
Designed with extra rake for sweeping turns, drive and control. Excels in surfboards with medium to extreme rockers, promoting performance surfing that flows and links multiple manoeuvres. Fins in the Carve Class often feature a wide base for drive and a refined tip the that allow for quick off the top turns.
Fin Class
PIVOT
Upright templates that are fast and reactive, excellent for vertical surfing, tight pocket turns and tail release. These fins partner well with moderate-to-low rocker surfboards such as small wave grovelers, they will also loosen up and help manoeuvre boards with more length or straighter outlines. Pivot’s will perform well in beach breaks, hollow waves and punchy barrels plus also a popular choice for Quad setups.
